Good Luck! I will pray for a speedy recovery for her.

The fracture is more serious than the er doc said. The specialist is consulting yet but another specialist! She will have to have surgery for sure. Some kind of implant inserted under her eye to support the optic nerve, muscles and the eye its self. They can not seem to make up there minds about when to do it and she is in pain. I am not good at waiting and they are starting to piss me off.I will get some info in the morning and keep you up to date. Thanks again for the moral support. D.

Thank you all! Your good wishes and prayers have worked! We saw a new specialists today who did a very comprehensive evaluation. All our questions got answered and he said ....bottom line no surgery! The nerve will take the longest to heal(3 to 6 months) but the rest will show improvement every day.Believe it or not(we saw the CT)the fracture will heal its self over some months, the fragments will dissolve and the blood clots will break down. Long story short all will be fine in due course! No eye damage:-). Thank you all again, you are better than just family, you are also friends! D.

I am writing a quick entry before my pain meds wear off to thank all of you for your kind wishes, prayers and thoughts. I haven't had the privilege of meeting most of you yet Doug and I feel as if we are part of a cohesive family. While I am still in a fair amount of discomfort, knowing that my prognosis is good and having Doug convey what you all wrote has made this a pretty great day. THANK YOU!

Malissa, Doug, that is great news. One time when i had an eye injury, the docs told me the eye heals quicker than any other part of the body.
