Laura's Mom (my mother-in-law), Carmen, is in the hospital and having open-heart surgery tomorrow afternoon

Laura is closer to her mom than anyone I know, and for a good reason... Carmen is a wonderful lady.  As you can imagine Laura is pretty worried right now and we're (me and the boys) are doing everything we can to keep her spirits up! 

Your positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated!!!!!

The surgery is scheduled for 1:30 tomorrow and should last around 4-5 hours, we'll let you know how it goes.

Carmen, Laura and your whole family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God lead, guide, and direct the surgeons as they perform the surgery. God is good - all the time!

Life is always throwing obstacles in our path that test our resolve and our beliefs. Your MIL and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We hope that Carmen will overcome this "obstacle" and Laura will enjoy many years of having her mom in her life.

Thank you all so much for the prayers and positive thoughts... I have passed them along to Laura and her mom.

They are just now taking her in for surgery and we will know that everything is ok around 6pm. It's going to be a long 4 hours now.

She'll be right as rain mate.....Give Laura a big Aussie hug from Marni and me mate.....CHEERS BOOF

Surgery was a success and Carmen is stable and resting.... What a Day!!!!

Laura wanted me to pass along her thanks to all of you for your prayers and thoughts. Yes John there is a lot of power there!

Carmen is still resting and Laura is on the way to the hospital to be there when she wakes up. So far everything is looking good, but there is still quite a bit of recovery and she will be staying in the hospital for at least 4 more days before coming to spend a few weeks with us... where she gets me as her nurse!!!!
