Why Parents Drink

A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to 'Dad.'

With the worst premonition he opened the envelope

with trembling hands and read the letter.

    Dear Dad:

It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you.. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.

I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice

But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it' s not only the passion...Dad she's pregnant.

Stacy said that we will be very happy.   She owns a trailer in t he woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.

Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone.  We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.

In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it.

Don't worry Dad. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get to know your grandchildren.

    Love, Your Son John

PS. Dad, none of the above is true I'm over at Tommy's house.

I Just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than a Report card That's in my center desk drawer.

    I love you....

    Call me when it's safe

Raising kids is tough - you have to know which battles to fight. Have 4 boys - all grown, all have educations and making their own way. Sometimes the report cards were the smaller battles. Good humor with lots of truth.

Lmao, that was something. But do parents ever really need a reason to drink, I thought it came with territory.

BUAHAAHAAAHAAAAHAAAAA!!!! I'm laughin' so hard, I can hardly type this s**t. My kid pulls stuff like this, and mostly to my face...WITH a straight face. HOW DO THEY DO THAT???
I told my kid, "one of these days, yer gonna say somethin' like that, and then have to watch me try to be revived...by the paramedics."! But I wouldn't trade bein' a parent, for anything. Well, except for a new Harley.
JUST KIDDING JAMES! LOL...how you like me, now?

Raised two boys one with ADD and the other with ADHA. It was like having two river otters in the house and both would do something like that. The minute the last one got married and left the house, I started drinking and riding again. ( but not at the same time) LOL

Last spirits I drank was back in December/January 2010/2011 New Years Eve.....last beer I had was somewhere around early June last year (2011)...

I have gallons of beer here in tins and bottles, I have gallons of various spirits here and have not touched them...lol...how stupid is that???  I have one or two friends who have a little when they visit and ANYONE who visits is welcome to have some of what they want from the shelf (ALL top shelf too!!!)...

But me?  I just cant be bothered ...lol... I have way too many things to do the following day and just dont want any in my system as I enjoy my licences and have NEVER been stopped for actually drink driving or even suspected of it

    - apart from one time...lol...and that was just so stupid...lol...

Cop pulled me up without asking WHAT I had been driking all day and all evening.....I had had 12 drinks that day, and his little piggie eyes lit up as he got the test kit out.....I blew a green light...lol...I had been drinking COFFEE all day...lol...Stupid cop, I really ranted him back to his car that day!!!!!

I have the whole story online somewhere that I wrote up at the time, I shall try and find it and add it...lol...
