I did a Military Survival course way back in '70's up in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Highlands...lol...yeah, I ate EVERYTHING from weeds to crawling and slithering things, surprising what you will eat to keep going without being caught by those who were hunting us...lol...


I stayed the whole course.....Anyone else do this kind of thing?

I'm sure bugs are pure protein aren't they?

Mostly Proteins and ruffage in bugs...lol...but just dont eat those beetle wing cases...OUCH.....thats what you will be doing when its time to get rid of them at other end!!!!!


Oh and by the way...make sure you BOIL them up real good, some of the stuff bugs eat just aint for human consumption!!!  Some eat stuff that is SO loaded with bacteria's of all manner of toxicity!!!

(and besides, some just eat $h*t!!! ...lol...)

What was the most delightful things you ate on that course?

Hmmm, Married eh?  Not sure that counts as a survival as such.....unless...lol...Did you use Rat Poison?

Mountain, winter, jungle, desert and SERE training... What bugs and grubs we ate and the questionable water sources mixed with bleach or iodine to repell malaria and other water born virus hazards. You know grasshoppers bite back? LOL

You didn't twist the head off first?????

Was I suppose to know that the first time I did it? LOL

WE were told not to try and eat the head of a grasshopper...lol...pull the head off and leave it on the side for close to 20 minuutes and that sucker is still moving its mouth!!!!!

I never thought I would eat the stuff I did in those few weeks...lol...but then I got very very lucky.....I found a farm that had chickens and EGGS!!!!!  


I learnt how to start a fire without smoke, I learned how to keep embers dry and ready for easy lighting, I learned how to cook without any form of seasoning or fat apart from the chicken belly fat that I rubbed all over the breast meat...lol...NO WAY was I going to eat those suckers raw!!!


I still eat eggs raw whenever I feel like it, I actually got a real good taste for them like that...and so filling!!!
