  • Dog Days of Winter

    Posted January 21, 2011

Winter is a time for new beginnings.  It starts on the 21 of December (which is just days before Christmas, a time for perpetual hope).  It also marks the end of an old year and the beginning of new year, which takes me to my first sentence.  The air is t...

Absolutely has happened. Turning left from a busy street right into gravel. Had no time to react, and it took my tires out from under me. Luckily I was going slow and no damaged happened to the bike. Still gets your heart beat going!

in the topic The New Harley and Dishes in the forum Biker/Motorcycle Humor & Jokes
This guy has always dreamed of owning a Harley Davidson. One day he has finally saved up enough money so he goes down to the dealer and he picks out the perfect bike. While getting all the paperwork together, the dealer tells him about an old biker-trick that will keep the chrome on his new bike free from rust. The trick is to keep a jar of Vaseline handy and put it on the chrome before it rains, and everything will be fine. He happily pays for the bike and leaves.       A few months later, the young man meets a woman and falls in love. She wants him to meet her parents so she asks him to come to dinner. He readily accepts and the date is set. At the appointed time, he picks her up on his Harley and they ride to her parents' house. Before they go in, she tells him that they have a family tradition that whoever speaks first after dinner must do the dishes.  They enter and the young man notices there are dirty dishes everywhere in the kitchen and living room, so he makes a note to not say a word.      After a delicious dinner everyone sits in silence waiting for the first person to break and get stuck doing the dishes. After a long fifteen minutes, the young man decides to speed things up. He reaches over and kisses his woman in front of her family. No one says a word. Emboldened, he throws her on the table and has sex with her in front of everyone. No one says a word. Now he is getting desperate, so he grabs her mother and throws HER on the table. They have even wilder sex. No one says a word. He is wondering what to do next when he hears thunder in the distance. His first thought is to protect the chrome on his Harley, so he reaches in his pocket and pulls out his jar of Vaseline. The father says "Okay dammit, I'll do the dishes!"

in the topic Most Embarrassing Moment With Your Bike in the forum Biker Chat
A few years back, on my way home from work, I broke my clutch cable shifting from 4th to 5th. After the bike shut down and I was able to get into neutral, I decided to walk my bike the rest of the way (which was only 2.5 miles, instead of getting it towed (I'm a cheap polak)! While walking it down the street, I passed up a car wash that was full of hotties in bikini's hosting an event washing other bikes. I just put my head down in shame and kept walking. That was one of the longest and most strenuous walks of my life.

in the topic Does music drive you? Can your moods be swayed by it? in the forum Off Topic
As a musician, music does both drive me and sways my moods.  I am a believer that music is the soundtrack of our lives.  I somehow could remember a certain part of my life so vividly, like it happened yesterday, whenever a certain song comes on.  With out music, life would be dull.  That is why when I hear that schools are cutting music and art programs to save money, I cringe.  It is such an integral part of our lives.

in the topic Street Cred in the forum Biker Chat
I don't know if this gives me street cred or just makes me lucky, but in the summer of '09, my father-in-law went out for a nice summer ride. When we left the house it was a gorgeous 82 out, sunny and cloudless. After riding for a few hours, we decided to stop and get some lunch. While inside, unknown to both of us, the weather decided to take a turn for the worst. As we left the diner, it was grey and strangely calm. While heading home, we both noticed that it was getting a bit green outside and the clouds started swirling around. As we both glanced at each other the tornado sirens went off and sure as shit, behind us, a tornado had formed and was coming up behind us. With absolutely nowhere to pull over, we decided to gun it, blowing past stop signs till we were able to turn, heading into a different direction. Needless to say, we ended making it back to my house only to learn that a supercell popped up from nowhere producing an EF3 tornado, causing some major damage in the Chicagoland area. My heart hurt after that one, and now I never go anywhere without double checking the weather.
