Dog Days of Winter

  • Winter is a time for new beginnings.  It starts on the 21 of December (which is just days before Christmas, a time for perpetual hope).  It also marks the end of an old year and the beginning of new year, which takes me to my first sentence.  The air is the clean and crisp and winter offers some of the best scenery out there. This is the time to make adjustments and start fresh.  So why is that around the middle of January people start to act strange and get very defensive towards others?

I look at this time to get ready for the spring and look towards warmer weather and getting the bike out of the garage, not dump all over someone because they are taking too long at the check out line at the grocery store, or not driving 15 over the limit.  Life is too short to complain all the time and it seems that no body could just be happy with life.  People, take one day at a time and pick out the positives.

I'll admit it.  I used to be one of those individuals who did their fair share of complaining.  Then one day, a light bulb went off in my head and I just stopped.  There is alot of angst and misery in the world (the news and media do a great job of displaying that for everyone) to depress even the happiest person in the world.  I find it healthier to find even the one thing that is a postive and focus my day around that.  It make the winter go by so much quicker and when that first warm day arrives int he spring and you're out on your motorcycle, it make that ride just so much better.

Take a deep breath, look around and, "Just open your eyes, and see that life is beautiful." ~ Nikki Sixx (Sixx AM).  Take some time to plan out the rallies and rides you have in mind and all the things you want to accomplis.  Have a great day!
