At first the adrenaline took over and I didn't even know I was hurt.  I ran to Laura and saw hear ankle at a 90° angle (sideways) and knew my...    less

I know (even though he would never admit it to me) that it takes a lot for him to get on the back. There is a lot of backseat driving from back there.lol. We both are happy and that is what counts. He does drive about 90% of the time, We did pull in the alley the other day and the lady on the corner stood up and clapped .. Some of his buddies do give him a hard time about it, but he doesnt care. I think it is great that other men are willing .It means a lot to me that he lets me take his life in my hands, that he has the confidence in me .

He is comfortable with himself, and he had a little problem with driving several years ago, so until a few months ago I did most of the car driving anyway. (darn police, apparently if you are drag racing and you hit a police car, they take your license) He will say it is because I am spoiled.. (i think not lol). We want to do a few trips on the trike next summer, so it is good we are both comfortable front or back..I tried to take my grown sons for a ride , and neither one would climb on the back , but the granddaughters loved it.

Since  we have traded  both bikes for a trike,   our riding has changed.   My husband  will ride bitch and let me drive  lol.  I  just wonder   2 or 3 wheels how many men will ride  behind thier women?   I have to admit   sinced i am 5 foot  and he is bigger,  it must be quite a sight  when he is on the back,  because we sure do get looks...   We neither one  care what people think,  he says  we are happy ,  no matter who is in the front,  and that is what counts,  and  i totally agree.

Due to back issues with my husband  and  the fact i never  got comfortable with my ablilites on two wheels,    we  traded in both bikes for a tri glide,   So far we are loving it,   still be in  the wind  and feel safer  (sometimes hubbys  leg gives out,  not a good thing at a stop)  . I have to admit  it is different  than two wheels,   We would welcome  any advice  from experienced  trikers.   You  better believe  we  get looks  when I am driving  and he is in the back  :)

We  just got home from a little trip to St Joseph, MO.  (didnt get to bring the bikes :( ).  But  I noticed something that I have never seen in Iowa,   (maybe  just missed it ,  not sure),  all the lit up signs  on the interstate  said  " share the road with motorcycles, MO DOT cares. " unless  they had to say things  like an accident ahead  or something .  Lots of signs around,  billboards etc  to make people aware,  thank you Missouri.   I like to hope other states do too.

Just thanking you guys again, been practicing and the turning is much better, still wide once in a while on the right turn from a stop, but not too often now. turning the head, slower release on the clutch and the lowering has really helped, getting my confidence back .. thank all

in the topic How do you pick up a dropped bike? in the forum Biker Chat
This method really works, my husband dropped his dyna in the garage and due to back problems , he asked me to help him, and i got it up just like the video, and i am 5 ft, it made me know that i can do the same to the sporty if i drop it again.

yeah and it is better with releasing the clutch slower, i was just forgetting that i dont want to release as fast on a corner as with a take off straight. the sporty takes less clutch than the 250 i had, still a little wide on some right turns, and a little slower on the rolling lefts, but it is better and will keep getting better with practice. Thanks everyone for the tips. they have really helped,

Had a chance to ride a little, and one thing i found i am doing wrong is releasing the clutch too quick, the sporty is faster than the 250 i had. Some corners are easier than others. and i turned right in my car to get out of my neighborhood, and i take that corner wide with the car too. Something about the corner, Going to keep practicing. I am going to a parking lot when i get a chance and practice the rear brake dragging, I really think it is the wieght of the bike that makes me nervous. It almost felt like learning to ride again on the sporster. I am also focusing more on the part of the lane i want to be in. that also helps, I am even finding myself exagerating the head turn in my car lol thanks all of you for the advice. I need more practice and that will build my confidence .
