    The Piddling Pooch

A farmer's dog came into town,
    His Christian name was Rex.
    A noble pedigree had he,
    Unusual was its Text.
For,as he trotted down the street,
    'Twas beautiful to see
His work at every corner and
    His work at every tree.
    He watered every gateway too
    And never missed a post,
    For piddling was his specialty,
    And piddling was his boast.
They city curs looked on amazed
    With deep and jealous rage,
To see a simple country dog
    The piddler of the age.
Then all the dogs from everywhere,
    Were summoned by a yell
To sniff the country stranger o'er,
And judge him by his smell.
Some thought that he a king might be,
    Beneath his tail a rose,
So every city dog drew nigh
And sniffed it up his nose.
They smelled him over one by one,
They smelled him two by two,
And noble Rex, in high disdain,
Stood still 'til they were through.
Then just to show the whole shebang
    He didn't care a damn,
He trotted to a grocery store
    And piddled on a ham.
He piddled in a mackerel keg,
    He piddled on...    less

I know everyone, especially those who ride, hate to see people talking on the phone when they're driving.  But today I am especially p!$$ed off.

I work construction and we are working on a building that is really close to the street.  For saftey (at least I thought we would be safe) we coned off the right lane starting about 100 yards from where my guys are working.  All of the sudden I look up and see the jackass talking on the phone just running over our cones one by one.  I mean these cones are dead center of his car and he is still going about 35 mph.  I don't even think he realized it until about the 5th cone.

Next thing you know he runs right into the company truck, totaling the back end and destroying our generator and a bunch of other stuff.  Thank God all the guys got out of the way.

The jackass jumps out of the car and starts cusing us for having are stuff there, and he's still on the phone now telling the person he's got...    less

Thought it was about time for a new game.  Saw this on another site I visit and it looked like fun.

List a city that starts with the next letter in the alphabet.  When we get to "Z" we start back at "A".

The city can be in any country.  If it is in the US just list the City & State, if it is in another country list the City & Country.

    Ok, I'll start with...

Just purchased a 2013 Harley Street Glide, Gloss Black and Chrome. A week from Sunday (Oct 6th) he will put that concept to the test riding from Pigeon Forge to Fort Worth Texas for a visit......916 miles one way. Then down to San Antonio (5 hours) to visit his Grand Daughter which he has not seen. This has been one of those bucket list things I wanted to do before I'm to old to stay awake for more that 2 hours at a time. Long ride, just the bike, the road, and me.

    Stay safe everyone

He piddled in a mackerel keg, He piddled on the floor, And when the grocer kicked him out, He piddled through the door. Behind him all the city dogs Lined up with instinct true, To start a piddling carnival And see the stranger through. They showed him every piddling post They had in all the town, And started in, with many a wink, To pee the stranger down. They sent for champion piddlers who Were always on the go, Who sometimes did a piddling stunt Or gave a piddling show. They sprung these on him suddenly When midway in the town, Rex only smiled, and polished off The ablest, white and brown. For Rex was with them every trick, With vigor and with vim, A thousand piddlers more or less Were all the same to him. So he was wetting merrily, With hind legs kicking high, When most were hoisting legs in bluff, And piddling mighty dry. Then on and on Rex sought new grounds, By piles of scrap and rust, 'Til every city dog went dry And only piddled dust. But ever on went noble Rex As wet as any rill, And all the champion city pups Were peed to a standstill. Then Rex did freehand piddling, With fancy flirts and flings, Like double drip and gimlet twist, And all that sort of thing. And all the time this country dog Did never wink nor grin, But piddled blithely out of town As he came piddling in. Envoi: The city dogs a convention held, To ask, "what did defeat us?" But no one ever put them wise That Rex had diabetes.

very first "bike" was a 4 stroke, 5 HP Briggs & Stratton horizontal shaft with a centrifugal clutch, heavy duty bicycle chain, knobby go kart tires, a welded water pipe frame with no suspension. I think I was around 7 or 8. Oh yeah . . . no muffler, a steel vacuum cleaner pipe that got very hot. I still have burn scars and am hard of hearing in my right ear. the seat was 1/4 plywood covered with an old leather jacket over a few layers of terrycloth towels, held in place with two bolts. the 'kill switch' actually was a piece of metal you touched to the spark plug. it was a wind and pull rope start. no spring tension return. My Red Ball Jets (run faster, jump higher) were the breaks. 1 pint or quart gas tank. the kickstand was a 2x4 set on edge. I still have the engine. it still runs. ya can't beat a Briggs.

in the topic No helmet, novelty helmet or DOT helmet and why? in the forum Biker Chat
there are pros and cons to both sides I'm pro choice in most everything. As long as it neither picks my pockets or breaks my arm. That being said, if you choose not to wear a helmet, should your insurance rates be higher. Over the, more than, 50 years I've been riding two incidents stand out in my personal experience. I have one friend that died from from a broken neck, due the the extra weight of the helmet, that his neck was not 'designed' for. I also have an old riding partner that will never be quite the same due to a head injury from getting knocked over while waiting for a light to change. This was before insurance was mandatory in this state (WA). Mikey, no helmet, had insurance, but only collision, no medical. Jonjon had no insurance. My question is If you choose to not wear a helmet, should you pay a higher insurance premium? I would most likely wear one, even if it wasn't mandatory. I would like to have the choice, though!!!!!
