2002 Super Glide using oil

My Super Glide is using about 1/2 a quart of oil a month. Is this normal for that year? I'm not getting any smoke at startup and the pipes are clean.

That is not normal. I would check to assure oil is not leaking into the primary or the transmission first.

also check your cams, 2002 = spring loaded cam tensioners and these can have a devastating effect on lower end parts and oil routing problems.

Its going somewhere. Either leaking or burning. Probably worth the money to take it to a dealer and have them check it out.

I would take it to my dealer also, 2002 HD shouldnt have oil leaking at all, had a 2002 Dyna and never leaked any oil, burned some oil as the miles added up.

28000 miles. I'll take it up to Tifton Harley and have them give it a physical! OK, turn your handle bars and cough...... LMFAO

If you only have 28000 then there is a problem. Either leaking or burning! At 1/2 quart a month you probably would see oil spots under the bike where it sat overnight, but with that little amount you probably wouldn't see any smoking. Shop should be able to diagnose pretty quickly.
