About Our Business
Pete Johnson hails from Appleton, WI and has been a successful entrepreneur in real estate and financial services for over 25 years. Pete’s love of riding started at the age of four, riding dirt bikes with his brothers. He has a true love for these machines: Pete has even been known to tear bikes apart and rebuild them just to understand the mechanics.
Lori Thiel is a native of Hilbert, WI and had a 20 year career in financial services. Lori’s passion for riding was inspired by years on ATVs and dirt bikes on her family’s dairy farm.
Entrepreneurship was a lifelong aspiration for both Pete and Lori, so when they met at a Sturgis Rally, they began to dream together of owning a Harley-Davidson® dealership. They founded Open Road Harley-Davidson® of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 2007 and have been living life wide open for the past decade! Now co-owners, they share their passion for riding with the community and have created a place where riders of all ages can come together.
