Lawnmowers have to be hacked. It’s all caused by idiotic government regulations that are wrecking our lives one consumer product at a time, all in ways we hardly notice. It’s like the barbarian invasions that wrecked Rome, taking away the gains we’ve made in bettering our lives.”

Was thinking of maybe pulling a trailer with my Wide Glide. I found hitches for sale so I assume people do pull trailers with an FXDWG. I have never pulled a trailer with a bike. Most I see on the road and on here are bigger bikes like the road kings and goldwings. Any advice on pulling with a WG?

Tweek, I understand where you are coming from. Just saying that sometimes the right people may have to compromise a bit for one another. Making each other even better perhaps. Don't ever not be yourself though. There is a big difference.

Not trying to start an arguement or even a discussion. Usually I don't share my opinions anyway, but.........godly don't always mean good and just because someone doesn't go to church (like me) don't make them bad. I am a very good father and man all around if I do say so myself. I just happen to not congregate with anyone, anywhere usually be it in a church or a club, group, etc....... Good people are good because of their actions not because of their religion or lack there of or organizations they belong to. In my opinion. P.S. I have done bad things to bad people. Doesn't make me a bad person. Makes me the guy you want to be your friend.

A young man married a beautiful woman who had married and divorced 10 other men. On their wedding night she told her new husband “Please be gentle, I’m still a virgin!” ‘How can that be possible if you’ve been married ten times.?’ ‘Well, husband#1 was a Sales Representative; he just kept telling me how great it was going to be. Husband #2 was in Software Services; he was never really sure how it was supposed to function; but he said he’d look into it and get back with me… Husband #3 was from Field Services; he said that everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn’t get the system up. Husband #4 was in Telemarketing; even though he knew he had the order, he didn’t know when he would be able to deliver. Husband #5 was an Engineer, he understood the basic process but he wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state of the-art method. Husband #6 was from Administration; he thought he knew how but he wasn’t sure whether it was his job or not. Husband #7 was in Marketing; although he had a product, he was never sure how to position it. Husband #8 was a Psychiatrist; all he did was talk about it. Husband # 9 was a Gynecologist; all he did was look at it… Husband #10 was a Stamp Collector; all he ever did was … God I miss him. ‘But now that I’ve married you, I’m so excited’. ‘Wonderful’, said the husband, ‘but why? To which she replied… “You’re with the ‘GOVERNMENT‘, This time I KNOW I’M gonna get SCREWED.”:)

I had my right shoulder worked over a couple of years back. Scheduled it dec 24. Was able to ride in 3 months with confidence. Mine was both joints and took 4 incisions and 3+ hours in surgery. I would say mine was longer recovery than some of the people in physical therapy with rotator cuff only. So with good PT I would think somewhere from 6 to 12 weeks in my opinion.

Love my 2012 Wide Glide (103). Feb 9th will be one year from purchase. I have 17,500 miles on it. Most of those were in temps of 90+ and up to 115 here in the desert southwest. Rear cylinder cuts out at an idle and helps some at lights. I got no complaints.

I had my 4 year old ride, with a full face helmet, between me and my grown daughter during a local toy run and a couple other times on some back roads. Still don't trust her alone back there. Thinking of getting some shorter pegs and having some more rides around the block or the school parking lot to see how she does. She loves bikes and wants to go all the time.

I know there are laws for each state.  Some are clearer than others.  I interpret NM law to have no minimum age but says feet must be on pegs.  Just wondering what other people think and have done or do now as far as hauling the kid around.  Of course Helmets and eye protection are a given.   Just like some views  on this subject.

I suppose maybe it depends on what part of the USA you are in, how and where you were raised maybe? I have lived my entire life in the remote southwest. I carry a firearm and food/water, warm clothes etc. everywhere in my pickup. Carry enough of the same on my bike. I don't cruise town much or go bar hopping but if that does happen I won't be carrying a firearm. People still die every year out here in this part of the world for different reasons. Many times these sad stories begin with breaking down, running out of gas, flat tire, wrong turn...... The elements are harsh and with the border so close and all that brings with it, you never know if that person is coming to your aid or coming to scavenge from you. Lots of good people in this world but it only takes one bad one to make a difference. I try and be prepared, just in case.

One guy stood talking to me in a motel carpark..rubbing his holster...I burst out laughing and walked off..my stance on guns is this...if you live by the sword you usually die by those who don't. People kill people...why make it so easy....have a wander around cabellos and tell me the need for that much divison of weaponry in civilian hands. No wonder the cops blast first then ask questions. I can't answer that question.  I don't hang around people like that.  I carry most of the time and nobody knows.  That is the way it should be in my opinion.  I would hate you you to judge the entire U.S.A by a few wannabes.  There are still a lot of good people here.

Why would you act like an asshole just because you are carrying a gun?? I have carried one most of my life. My right to carry one. If you are legal to carry then it is your choice. Why is it that I don't care one way or another about what people do or don't do but it seems many people worry about what I do and why. Maybe they have too much time on their hands, need to ride more maybe??

blurplebuzz wrote... Ok you gun folk have me thinking, abt those who dont carry, consider us idiots or worse some sort of lesser person than those tht do carry?? I take issue with that, I am not an idiot/sheep as a result of choosing to avoid trouble & not carry a weapon on my person. In the rare instance when having a firearm made any sense to me was being confronted by some rabid animal/pack of wild dogs etc, most people who carry do so with a certain amount of responsibilty, its the 2% who have no concept of tht,who worry me.The fact is the one time I pulled out a gun in seeming self defense I nearly killed my brother who came in late one night n I woke in a fog ready to shoot! It freaked me out later when I realized what I nearly did,in stupidity.Ever since put em up & forgot abt them. I do not contest your right to carry, yet I do find it rather sad tht those who carry a gun have an attitude towards those of us who choose differnt. Meant no disrespect in anyway by my "sheep" comment.  Sorry if it offended you.  Not my intention.  We are all just voicing our thoughts and opinions.  People say things often that I could get upset over.  I choose not to.  I know whats right for me and really could care less what is right for everyone else.  Sometimes I come off a little harsh, I am just straight forward and honest. No harm intended.

wheels wrote... As long as you stay proficitient in your fire arms training and practice with your weapon of choice, I have no problem with you carrying. It's the gun carrier who never shoots and can't see across the room that I worry about. Stay safe and enjoy your rides and hopefully you can log tons of miles and never need to reach for your weapon. I agree completely.  This is what is taught in the class for concealed carry.  I myself worry about those people who carry but have never fired their weapon.  FMJ ammo and paper targets are cheap.  Get to know your weapon.

I always have a firearm of some sort on me or close by. If you have a permit to carry then you should carry in my opinion. How many times could more deaths and injuries have been prevented if someone had been carrying when some lunatic opened fire on a crowd. I don't go looking for trouble. I don't carry and drink alcohol, which is illegal anyway. Who would have ever thought they would be in a gunfight in a theater or at school or at a family restaurant. I hope I never have to be in that situation but I am prepared for it. Hopefully I am not alone in this way of thinking. Some people choose to be sheep which is their choice. Some sheep are afraid of the sheepdog until the day the wolf shows up.
