    MEET MARISSA
Marissa was born to drug addicted parents and adopted by a wonderful woman named Sarah. Marissa experienced a traumatic birth with extensive brain damage and kidney failure as the immediate concerns which were followed by chronic pulmonary disease, seizures and the inability to eat like a “normal” baby. Marissa spent the majority of the first 2 years in the hospital with many surgeries. Today, at 6, she is going through the process of renal failure with an estimated kidney function at 4%. Some days are better than others, some days are impossible to get through, then there are those days she smiles & laughs and it reminds all of us how precious life is. Unfortunately, for Sarah, this is very financially straining, time-consuming and emotionally draining.
