Event Desc

  • Sonoma Raceway in Northern California will host the seventh round of the 2017 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Race Championship.

After a one-month summer break, the MotoAmerica will reconvene at Sonoma Raceway, August 11-13, for the seventh round of the series. This event will mark the first time the series has visited the Northern California racetrack, but Sonoma has a long history of AMA Superbike racing dating back to 1977. The facility hosted annual AMA events from 1993-2012.

The weekend will include two full days of racing—a doubleheader event—for the Superbike, Superstock 1000, Supersport, and Superstock 600 classes, plus vendors and fun for the whole family. Sonoma will also host the KTM RC Cup, a spec class open to riders age 14-22.

The AMA-sanctioned event will take over the 12-turn course for a weekend of high-speed motorcycle racing featuring riders that include Josh Hayes, Cameron Beaubier, and Roger Hayden as they return to the serpentine circuit. In the past, Sonoma Raceway has provided exciting racing on a track that both riders and fans enjoy.
