riding position

Unless I'm with someone I am completely comfortable with, I ride alone. I hate riding in a parade. Charity runs with a bunch of weekend dentists who have 300 miles experience scare me more than snakes in a sleeping bag.

since im the biggest (ass end) and the brightest, (lights, as u can see), i usually fall in to the gunner position, when riding with a group. the leader will turn on his signal to change lanes just for a sec or two, then i turn mine on, and move out to slow traffic if need be, so all the rest can move out. i usually dont ride with a big group. usually three maybe four, and thats it. dont like big groups at all! but staggard position is usually the best bet, specially if the roads are full of pot holes and uneven blacktop! keep on winginit rick

There only a couple guys I ride side by side with and thats only on the straight. The rest of the time its staggered.

As a rule...Staggered, even with my Dad when he was still riding. With my sons, though, will ride side by side in city traffic with one but not the other. And for some reason, my boys always want me n front!

Staggered all the time for me - and with a reasonable distance too (though I don't mind them closing up at traffic lights etc so more can get through). It really unnerves me when someone rides alongside or too close behind me. Makes me feel that I can't command my own space on the road or follow my own lines for corners etc.

When riding with me - just think of Dirty Dancing. "This is my space - and that is yours" (o:

Intresting call....I call it Riding Hammer...got that phrase when I rode Police escort cause  we dropped the hammer on the back door when we need to close the lane the procession was moving into....same concept though,,,I like it in the back as well, it'sn important position....

On the Patriot Guard runs we usually ride staggered when moving down the road and when we slow down for arrival, it usually bunches up to side by side at slower speeds.
