I have an '86 Sportster. Was 883cc now 1200cc. Finaly installing high torque starter. Anyone done this?? My old starter was wore out anyway but wouldn't kick the engine over without a jump when it's cold. Old starter is 1.2kw, new is 1.4kw. Just got new starter today. Install this weekend. Also installing 2 guage battery cables.

Should be fine as long as your battery is up to it

Just to let you know, the new starter & new J&P Cycles battery really cranks that engine faster than ever !!! Battery is rated at 310 cold cranking amps, 'absorbed glass mat' technology, maintenance free. Absolutely love it !!!
