my 05 road king classic needs new tires. I'm in Florida so I'm looking for recommendations on what has worked in southern climates, rain, and overall handling and performance. I do plan on keeping the wide whites if possible....however I can be convinced to change that for the right set of tires.

Not sure how they are on a big bike, but after many years of other brands I bought some Metzler ME880's for my Sportster & have been thrilled at the improvement in handling. After the first 150 miles they have out performed any tire I have had. They wear a lot longer & really take to hard cornering. I checked & they come in white walls too.
Good luck!
