10 years ago today the USS Cole (DDG67) was attacked in Yemeni killing 17 and injuring 39 US sailors. al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the attack. Please take a moment today to remember and honor those who lost their lives and those injured.

Lakiba Palmer was one of the servicemembers killed on the uss Cole, She was a young Lady from San Diego who was a seaman Apprentice. She had been in the navy less than a year at the time of her death. The local news ran a huge story last night about her an i can remember when it happened.The Navy has completely changed how a ship now enters port and exits port and how they are also tied up. Too bad the changes were not implemented sooner so that brave servicemembers like Miss Palmer would still be here. RIP to all who lost there lives on the Cole you will never be forgotten nor will your service to this country.
