I wouldn't know a whole lot about the American market, but we get stuff here called Heritage and its great stuff, otherwise I would always use anything that the Navy use ...if it can stand salt water, it can stand anything (our navy use Heritage!)

In the north mink oil is great for year round conditioning of boots, gloves and anything else leather. don't use petro base. Its just real hard to get the little buggers to rub on and where you need the oils...

I use KIWI saddle soap to clean and soften the leather and Kiwi Mink oil to preserve and coat the leather.

I have no faith in chemists and prefer proven methods to bad i can not get pig fat that works best.

do not rush take your time and rub it all in good took me 4 days to do the bags on mt flhrs 8 months ago and they wipe clean and look brand new with just a damp cloth.
