friend and i are meeting in new orleans 7/18/15 and are riding all the way across the us. looking for cheap places to stay. mostly 1-10 to wet coast then up toward san fransico then up and over to sturgis.

when on a long ride i tend to do a lot of roadside camping trying to stay in a motel every two to three nights, but thats just me, truck stops will usually let you buy a shower.

If you have the room for a small tent and a few camping supplies I would camp when the weather is nice and motel when its not. Most states we have ridden through have State Campgrounds for just a few bucks a night. I would also go to all of the road side motel websites (Motel 6, Travel Lodge, etc) and sign up for their rewards programs. You will get a couple of discount coupons via email between now and then.
