    Nubie Question # 1

I have a 2005 Harley Davidson FLHTC electric glide ultra classic. I keep shorting out the fuse for the running lights. Does anyone have a fix for this issue? or has it happen to anyone else? If so what have you done or does anyone have any suggestions?

You say "shorting out the fuse", I assume you mean burning it out. If you have the proper fuse and correct lamps a short (hot wire touching a ground) is all that can cause this. You will have  to trace the wires (and other components) in the lamp circuit and find where one is shorting. Tedious at best. HIGHLY recommend getting a factory schematic for color codes etc.

first place I would check would be where the wires go in to the running lights right there at the top of the blinkers. The wires are in a sleeve but I notice the sleeve worn on mine when I was doing some work in that area.

Or you could replace the fuse with a paper clip and look for smoke!  (just kidding DO NOT DO THAT)
