Lajitas, Texas - Just 14 miles down the best bike road in Texas from me. Setting on the Rio Grande, once it was going to be a millionaires paradise desert resort. That idea failed but still a nice place to visit.

Nogales, Arizona. About 4000ft elevation. Right on the Mexican border. The Santa Cruz river flows directly north from here, one of the few rivers that flows that direction.

Quartsite Arizona. Population about 200 (more than that but it seems close) in the summer and 40,000 in the winter. Rockhound seniors in their RVs invade the place.

Tucson, Arizona. From the desert floor at about 2500ft you can go from saguaro cacti to pine trees at over 9000ft in about 20 minutes. A nice twisty road that is a hoot on a scoot.
