In the Harley travel guide it says it is illegal in BC to ride side by side.

Wiki Answers says the same thing. In fact it is legal to do it.

Here is the statute:

194(4)Except when overtaking and passing other motorcycles, more than 2 operators of motorcycles must not operate their motorcycles side by side in the same direction in the same traffic lane.

Wiki even uses the same quote they just can't read.

Whatever you think about doing it, it's legal here.

Seems pretty clear to me.
