Surprise…Surprise…Surprise...

  •  I don't want to get into the details of what I do for a living but to tell this story I must tell some of those details.  My work hours are far from normal, my work weeks are any where from 70 hours to 100 hours weeks, and these goes on for far to long.  Eight to sixteen weeks at a time, but one of the good things is my down time.  No hours no phone calls no waking at  five am.   What the Wooly man and I do after one of those jobs is go for a ride.  Pack two bikes and head off for much needed, much deserved wind therapy.  This weekend we just finished one of these long tedious jobs and had planed a little bike about that we should have left for yesterday.

We was going to ride to Orlando Florida first stop was a convention that a very good friend was hosting.  We was going to spend the opening day with them and some other friends we do not get to see very often.  Enjoy a pig roast, fun games and hugs and catching up.  Then from there take off for Palm Bay to visit with my best friend (who still claims me).  Spend a couple days with her at her new house visiting catching up and laying around her pool have drinks and laughing our asses off about the dumb things we did in our colleague days.  Then back to Orlando to our other friends for the car and bike show for another day with them and on to Louisiana so I can get my fix of Houma.  I joke all the time about being Houma ( pronounced Home a ) sick but really it is not a joke and the older I get the more I want to move back to the bayous.

Well last Sunday, maybe it was early Monday morning Dew calls the Wooly man.

Dew " Surprise I am comimg home for a short visit. "

Wooly "That is great when do You get here?"

Dew  " The 18th early in the morning."

Wooly  " Surprise we are heading to Florida saturday."

    Dew  " WHAT?"

Well  as you might be able to tell Florida got cancelled,  It was a mad dash canceling hotel rooms for the convention.  Breaking our friends heart but I think they understand that is not like we get to see Dew often, But at least Louisiana is still on.  But the moral of this story was that if you have parents that are gypsy at heart last minute surprises might not be a good idea, lol.
