Revvin’ Up For Sturgis 2013

  • It’s coming…one of the oldest and best rallies in motorcycling history…the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Are you starting your Sturgis preparations early?

If you’re planning to attend, booking early just makes sense.  It’s a little cheaper so It allows you to use the extra coin you’ve saved on awesome stuff like parts, accessories, clothing or tickets to go see the great musical performances that will be happening at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip.  And, no matter what type of lodging you are looking to book, Sturgis, South Dakota has it all.  Prospective attendees can look to reserve anything from a campsite to an entire house with all the amenities that can be rented for the entire duration of the motorcycle rally.  For you RVers, there are plenty of options available to you as well.  Anything from bare campsites to full hookups are available.  But in all honesty, your best bet, if you want a true Sturgis experience, is to stay at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip.

What’s so great about the Buffalo Chip? It’s only the best party anywhere.  Offering those who stay there a great camping atmosphere, (campsites, RV hookups and cabins available), it allows you to connect with lots of great people, making new friends and reconnecting with some old buddies.  The Chip also comes equipped with food vendors, laundry facilities, bars, an awesome Zip Line, Tattoo Cafe, the Guns of Freedom, where you can go and shoot your gun of choice and last but not least, hot showers.  Oh, and did I mention that staying in the Buffalo Chip gives you free access to the great musical acts that will be in attendance like Toby Keith and ZZ Top?  That alone is a great reason to stay at the Chip.

To get into the rally spirit follow the Buffalo Chip on Facebook and play the Guess the Band Contest.  They post clues for the next band they are about to announce and if you Guess the Band correctly you get entered to win awesome prize package as well as be automatically entered to win a Grand Prize Fan VIP Upgrade at the Buffalo Chip. A Fan VIP Upgrade is your chance to meet your favorite stars at the Best Party Anywhere in 2013 and to have an unforgettable good time.

Currently, four great acts have been confirmed to participate in this year’s events at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip - they are: ZZ Top, Toby Keith, Brantley Gilbert and Queensryche. Hit up the Buffalo Chip's website to get your campsite and follow them on Facebook.

For more information on all things Sturgis and Rally - check out the main Sturgis Motorcycle Rally site.  Everything from State Parks, Museums, locations of various visitor centers and historic towns.  A couple of my favorite destinations include the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum, Mount Rushmore, the town of Deadwood and Spearfish and Prairie Berry Winery. My favorite events include first and foremost - the Legends Ride put on by the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, Biker Belles, the Mayors Ride and of course, all the concerts.  The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum is a hub of action during the rally, with featured bike builders making many appearances and other events - a definite stop on your Sturgis Rally list.

  • RussBrown A lot of people also go in just before and at the tail end of the rally as well. A little less traffic!
