I have 3 wonderful children (2 boys 1 girl) and 6 grandchildren. My boys joined the military straight out of high school. Last year on July 31, 2012 I received that dreaded visit that no parent wants to have regretfully informing you your child paid the ultimate price at the age of 20. My oldest is still active so I am a VERY proud gold star and blue star mom and have the deepest respect and passion for our military men and women and the families that have lost love ones.
