ElGuapo: Look forward to seeing you in Yakima for our "Day of Rememberance" celebration. It's been wonderful riding weather over here lately. We have a band lined up along with free chow. It should prove to be a great day.

  • Message My housemate (spouse) doesn't ride, even as passenger. I'm looking for riding friends and partners in my area who can gear up and go on a moment's notice. I do all my own work on my bike and am willing to help others with theirs. I'm retired after forty-five years as a heavy equipment and automotive mechanic, carpenter, electrician, long-haul truck and bus driver, you name it. I love a good laugh, companionship of people of like mind, get together with friends, for rides, parties or whatever. I'm pretty easygoing unless crossed, then I'd rather not stay around. I'd rather not spend time in a smoky atmosphere, as it gives me a headache, so I look more for non-smoking friends, or groups, but not exclusively--I'm not a non-smoking snob.

I'm an old fart with a bad back, so long rides without rest are not for me. About 250-300 miles a day is just right, with gawk and piss stops in the middle. Plus food, of course!! As a result, I ride alone a lot. Don't like it much but that's how it goes.

Looking for anyone with enough patience, or who likes the same riding schedules to ride with. Wanna contact me, I'm at

I agree with Tweek and Edgewalker. The producers and channel-masters keep dumbing down their "shows", and the more of us who watch that dumb-ass crap, the more they produce. It's like feeding laxatives to cows.

I retired out of a similar five ring circus here in my home town (dep't of public works chief equipment mechanic). Since then the new city manager has managed to piss off the city council, the cops, the public works department, all the clerks at silly hall, and now it looks like a six ring circus with the whole thing run by the clowns!!

Also check for poor ground connection at the instrument cluster/triple tree mount. I run a '01 FXDX also....have had not serious problems and do all my own work. Only the factory service manual is adequate for doing your own repairs. The "indies" like Clymer and Haynes try to cover too many model years to be sufficiently accurate.

I am reminded of the most important rule of the universe: Never, under any circumstances, even remotely suggest that a woman might be pregnant unless you can actually see a baby emerging from her body at that very moment. Amen to that!!!! When I had an auto service business in my garage at home, one of my customers had a one year old toddler with her. She either was having a hard time losing the p g weight or was just a little plump around the middle. I commented that she had another one on the way. WRONG!!!!! I never saw either of them again.
