About Our Business
The story of Reading Standard Motorsports (formerly Ray's Yamaha) began in May of 1962, when Ray C. Miller Sr. purchased seven Yamahas. From 1962 until 1969, Ray ran the business from his home garage, on a hilltop in Reading, Pennsylvania. Eventually the business outgrew his home garage. In 1985, with the help of Ray’s youngest son Mike, the motorcycle shop was moved to its current location at 5560 Perkiomen Ave, Reading, PA.
In July of 2012, Ray C. Miller passed away. Ray dedicated his life to this business. He treated every customer that walked through the door as he personally would want to be treated. He built a solid foundation and had great success. With the passing of Ray, the family business is now owned by Mike. We are proud to be the oldest family run Yamaha dealership in the United States.
In 2015, Rays has made huge changes. We completed a full building renovation, added Suzuki, and changed our name to Reading Standard Motorsports. Currently, RSM sells Yamaha, Victory, Polaris, Slingshot, Hyosung, Suzuki and KYMCO products including motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, watercraft, jet boats, trailers, and much more. In addition we service vehicles and stock parts and accessories.
