It is a bit more expensive here in Florida then it was in NY and neither of us would ride without insurance and there was no way I could afford that now. So after thinking a long time about it we decided to sell our bikes. Now they were older bikes and we knew they would need someone who really cared about bikes to insure they would be taken good care of. My bike was a Honda CM 400 in really very good condition and my husbands bike was a 1979 Kawasaki 750 LTD Twin which he had only just finished rebuilding. We had found 2 of this bike and used the best of both bikes to rebuild it. I would love to hear from anyone with experience with them and any information that would be helpful.

He is 19 years old and had his High School Diploma.  He lacks experience with the world and team work and discipline. He is a very good kid and thinks that he wants to go into  this sort of stuff..

I am him Mom and I need people I trust to tell me about thier experience with this sort of stuff.

    Tell me more.....

Starting a new game (that I copied from another board) that will get us away from the P/C
The way the game will work is that somebody will say what they want a picture of & what they want to see in the picture to assure that you were actually there.
After somebody takes the picture & posts it here they will suggest something else to take a picture of & another way of proving that you were actually there. - Might be great if you gave us a little background on the pictures you submit.

I'll start with something simple - Send us a picture of a historical marker with your glove hanging over it

There are historical markers everyplace & one way or the other we are all wearing gloves right now. As we go along we can make it more complicated.
It is great to cry "foul"  &  we can argue about if  the quest is legitimate or if the entry is fair.  less

Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife.

Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I  came across was a 100,000-volt,  pocket/purse-sized Tazer.

The effects of the Tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat  to safety....??

WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home..
I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button.
Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button  and pressed it against a metal surface at the  same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs.

AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what...    less

I looked out my window this weekend and realised that my riding for the rest of this year was now over. I was told by someone I was a big baby for not wanting to get my bike out and ride still but I think when you see the photo many will agree it's just to cold for it right now.On that note I will head off to sit in front of the fire and dream of warmer weather and riding in the wind. It really doesn't bother hubby and I what they think of us or what they are saying about us to their friends. I think it bothers us more that they are killing the bikes we worked so hard for and took such good care of. Selling to them we thought the bikes would be taken care of but we were wrong. Live and learn is all I can say and we learned a lot this time

Since we moved to Florida a little over a year ago things have been a bit tight. I wasn't able to get my lisence and we weren't able to swing putting our bikes on the road. Anyway My daughter and son in law both ride and My daughter had always liked my bike and the son in law well he just blew his bike apart and was without one. So we decided to be nice parents and sell them to them cheaper then we should have. Needless to say they live in upstate NY. The flew down and I thought his parents were going to meet them here and trailor the bikes back since they hadn't been riden in almost 2 years and neither of them really knowing these bikes. Well That wasn't the case. They rode thes bikes from here in Florida to Tenn near his parents then to NY and although my Honda seems as it is still running well our son in law had the Kawasaki all messed up and not running right before they even left Florida. Now they have trashed us both (husband and I) on facebook saying we sold then junk. We tried to tell them they were older bikes and they didn't know them and also they should be checked out completely before taking a long ride. They didn't even do an oil change or tune up on either bike.I feel so bad knowing neither bike is being taken care of and we are being blamed for anything now wrong with them. They were both started and run for a while by my husband before they had come to pick them up but I feel common sense should have taken over with them to at least completely check the bikes out before leaving here. And if there was even a small issue with either bike like there was with the kawasaki before leaving the bike should have been looked at and problem fixed before pulling out on a long trip not just taking off anyway. Needless to say I have learned a very important lesson. I will not ever sell to someone in my family thining it would be better then a starnger. I am not thinking a stranger would have thought more of the 2 bikes and taken a lot better care of them. Both my husband and myself are very sad our bikes are gone and that they are not being taken care of the way they should be. Someday we both hope to be riding again and we will know better from this point on family isn't always better. Just so sad 2 Classic Bikes are going to be distroyed by careless jerks.

One of my sons is now 20 and has been in the NG since he was 17. He is hoping to go full time with them very soon. For him it was the right choice. It did do him a world of good in his growing and maturing. As mentioned before just make sure everything is in writing. I am very proud of him. He chose to join even after his older brother was deployed to Iraq twice. It can be a very good option for the right person.

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. I know I am a new rider only been riding on my own since last Feb But Doug my husband has been riding for more then 30 yrs. The first thing he taught me was always look out for the other driver and never trust any of them. They can't judge how fast we are going or how close we really are. I never assume they see me when I'm coming to an intersection. I didn't let the accident I had back in May stop me from riding and I'm not going to let a few bad apples in cars stop me. I enjoy the bike to much and my husband and I enjoy the times we spend together out there way to much to let anyone else ruin it for us.

in the topic Close Call this past weekend in the forum Off Topic
This past weekend while my husband was home from work we decided to go out for a nice ride together. We didn't wind up having such a great time. First my husband went for a short ride alone since I drive slower and am less experianced. While he was on his way back to the house for me he drove through the small town we live just out side of. There is a yeild sign and as he slowed to see if it was clear for him to continue a car passed him illegally and almost ran him off the road. Now he got home safe and asked if I was ready to head out. He always has me go first so he can watch me. He also had our 15 yr old son on his bike with him. I was driving just at the speed limit and there were 3 cars behind us. The first 2 cars passed us with no problem. The 3rd car started to pass my husband, then as he got along side of my husband he just stayed there forcing my husband closer to the side of the road. I saw this in my mirrors and slowed a bit hoping the car would pass me too. He stayed right along side my husband. after about 10 minutes of this we saw an on coming car. My husband decided to move closer to the car and try and force the car to move away from us. Just as the on coming car got to me the car riding along side of my husband passed him and also passed me almost forcing me off the road. Just as he passed me the on coming car was also passing. There was no where for me to move to so I just held my breath and after the car did pass I had to drve about 1 mile further before I found a safe place I could pull over and stop. Needles to say it ended the day for us. Not only was my husband upset and mad my son was shaking and I was pretty freaked. I can still see the guys face now smiling and laughing at us as he passed. I am not going to let it scare me out of riding anymore but I am very cautous out there. I know I have to build my confedence back up since my accident back in May but people like that we don't need out on any road.

My husband and I had never heard the story of the bell before we came on this site. Since we have I went and got one for his bike and he bought one for my bike. We don't ride with anyone else and don't have any friends that know about the bell so we though it was ok to get each other one. We won't be riding without them anymore.
