  • The WCMG/Backroads of Appalachia Presents THE IRON. Appalachia's Most demanding Trail Route. This is a 2-day event covering 533 miles, 3 states lines, and over 14 hours of ride time. THE IRON includes several other popular Backroads of Appalachia Trail Routes such as the Dragonslayer 160. All who complete this ride within 24 hours will receive the coveted 'IRON" Patch. This patch can only be earned by completing THE IRON in 24 hours. This ride and event is NOT for beginners and experienced riders are recommended due to the technical nature and endurance required for this Trail Route. Lodging information for the first night will be provided to you for booking as soon as we confirm.
