  • The 7th Annual Ride for the Red motorcycle run will be held Labor Day weekend to raise funds for the American Red Cross’ Finger Lakes Chapter’s local services, including the Service to the Armed Forces program. The event is supported by Corning H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) Chapter 3390.

The weekend kicks off on Friday afternoon, Sept. 4th, with a short ride from Corning Harley-Davidson at 300 Town Center Road in Painted Post, NY, followed by food and beverages at the dealership. The Ride for the Red main event will be held on Saturday, Sept 5th, also from the dealership. The ride will be led by NYS motorcycle Troopers through the beautiful Finger Lakes Region.

Pre-registration “on-line” is highly recommended at the Red Cross web site at www.redcross.org/CorningRideForTheRed. On-site registration runs from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The led ride leaves at 11:30 AM sharp.

T-shirts are included for both riders and passengers who pre-register online (limited quantity offered for sale day of ride). Also included are meals after the ride and one commemorative bike flag. The cost is $20 for the rider; $20 for the passenger.

The perpetual Chapter Challenge Award, similar to the Stanley Cup, will be awarded to the club with the most number of participating members. This award will be re-presented at future Ride for the Red events.

Vendors, raffles, entertainment and more are featured around the event.

The American Red Cross will also hold a blood drive at Corning H-D on Saturday, 9/5, from 1 to 5 PM.

Contact Corning Harley-Davidson at 607-937-8351 for more information on the ride and hotel accommodations.
