Some times my grays are blonde

  •  So while I was waiting on the rear spocket for the Submarine I processed to work on Mydol ( or My Doll)   the spelling depends on her and my mood.  Any way I spent my time getting her running.  Battery was fine,  I keep all bikes on tenders. Clean  new gas, cleaned out petcock... You know the normal for a bike that had set for awhile.   Still My doll was not starting with my favorite invention the push button kicker so  I go and place a screw driver over the starter solenoid.  She started fine...  Okay so lets check for dirty switchs... Take off the housing on the handle bar and with a q-tip and some achocol clean them up.   She fires, I shut her down, she fires again.  I repeat for a few minutes and then deside to take her for a little spin.   Now switching bikes from The Submarine to My Doll is a bit of a chore for me... I some times forget how to operate a carberated motorcycle... But I get her purring like a shovel should and we go for a quick 30 mile block... I get her home safe and sound and she dies when I was pulling her into her spot in the garage.  Mydol had not started since,  wracked my brain for a minute or two, okay over night, and then finally figured out what was up.   I had only but one gallon of fresh gas in her...

  • Bitchy Yep it was a good thing... And My Doll is a good bike has only left me stranded twice in all these years.
  • LCStrat Sounds like you are a pretty good trouble shooter on My Doll and bikes. I'm with Edge, at least she got you home before running out.
  • Bitchy LCStrat... Thanks for the complement... and yep glad now I turned back left instead of heading right and into a few curves... I would not have liked pushing her home, or to the next gas station.
