July 2011 Newsletter

  • Well we can finally say Welcome to Summer, and what a great summer this is turning out to be... We have been riding and attending rallies and events almost every week and meeting more and more CycleFish members and fans everywhere we go! But that isn't really a big surprise because CycleFish is growing faster than ever. Last month we hit 500,000 visits for the first time and had over 1,100 new members sign up. So to all those new members - WELCOME, and to all of our older members - thanks for continuing to make CycleFish one of the best sites around!

Hopefully everyone is getting a chance to ride and get out to some of the great events that are happening. We still have over 1,400 events listed in our Event Calendar for this year, and are adding around 100 new events to the calendar every week! And the great news is that every event promoter I have talked to tells me the attendance this year is finally up after a couple of slow years due to the economy.
    CycleFish Meet & Greets

    Redwood Run

If you've been on the site at all over the past few weeks you have undoubtedly seen the posts and pictures from our Annual Meet & Greet at the Redwood Run. Even with all the early problems the Kiwanis of the Redwoods (the event organizer) had putting on this year's event, the Redwood Run and the CycleFish Meet & Greet was one of the best ever, with one big exception... Laura (HDBeech) couldn't make it for the first time in 8 years and she was missed by all - especially me! The new venue was much nicer than the old place, the bands were great, good food, good people and lots of beer! Of course the CycleFish camp was once again the center of attention and I think almost everyone at the rally stopped by at one point or another.

I really want to thank all of the CycleFish members who attended (approximately 60+ that I know of), and I want to especially thank DebraJo, HighRisk, Deener and Harleyman for all of their help in setting up the CycleFish Camp, and Danielle and all the Kiwanis of the Redwoods for their hospitality!

We have two more CycleFish Meet and Greets coming up here in July:

Too Broke for Sturgis put on by ABATE of Arizona in Mormon Lake, AZ. Laura and I will be attending and host the CycleFish Meet & Greet.

Run 21 put on by ABATE of Oregon in Birkenfeld, OR. Jeff (HighRisk) and Denise (Deener) will be hosting the CycleFish Meet & Greet here.

If you are interested in hosting a CycleFish Meet & Greet at an event in your area, just contact Lucky and we'll make sure you get everything you need. A couple of events coming up that we can't attend but would really like to have CycleFish Meet & Greets at are: Sturgis and the Easyriders Rodeo Tour & Motorcycle Rally in Chillicothe, OH

Congratulations to Our July Photo of the Month Winner

    What's New on CycleFish

Although no new features were added to the site this month, we have been hard at work updating our systems and processes to ensure CycleFish is running faster than ever and able to handle our future growth. We apologize for any inconvenience the couple of short outages that were necessary to complete these may have caused, and we hope you are noticing that the CycleFish site is now running faster.

Bike of the Month is Back
For the past couple of months we replaced our Bike of the Month Contest with the Photo of the Month Contest. The Photo of the Month Contest went well and we got a lot of great feedback. So from this point on we will be switching back and forth with different contests each month. Click Here to enter your bike in the August Bike of the Month Contest

    New CycleFish Business Sponsors

The Extreme Motorcycle Radio is the best handle bar mounted radio on the market. Extremely powerful speakers and a versitile radio unit that includes FULL FM radio, USB port, AUX for MP3/satellite, SD card slot, wired and wireless remote operations and all at a reasonable cost.

I have just received my Extreme Cycle Radio and will be installing it this week. So far everything about it looks great. Look for my full review of the product on the website once I have installed it and road tested it.

We want to thank Easyriders Magazine for sponsoring this month's newsletter with their Subscription Sweepstakes.

As always, we want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of the CycleFish community. Remember, this is your website, not ours (we just maintain it for you). Those who are active in the CycleFish community, sharing photos, adding content, and making friends, have already realized the benefits of being a part of a community sharing the same interest...motorcycles and riding. So if you haven't stopped by in a while, be sure to browse around and see what's new. And don't forget to tell everyone you know about CycleFish, so that our community can continue to grow.

    Regards,

    Lucky & Laura
