MRF Back in the Sunshine!

  • The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) goal of playing a role in uniting our motorcyclist’s rights community took another step forward. MRF President, Kirk "Hardtail" Willard was invited to meet with ABATE of Florida State Leadership, Daytona Beach Chapter Leadership and members, Confederation members, and Bobby C of the Motorcycle Profiling Project (MPP) in Daytona Beach Florida this past weekend.

"With Florida having the second highest number of registered motorcycles by a wide margin in the United States, it is incredibly important to have ABATE of Florida involved in national motorcyclists’ rights and more importantly with the MRF's Legislative Agenda. I couldn't be more pleased that the meeting outcome has renewed a commitment from both parties to work closely together going forward,” said Hardtail.

Alfy Fyock, ABATE of Florida Daytona Chapter President, had this to say, "It was an epic meeting and we look forward to working together more in the future".  ABATE of Florida Leadership also committed to attending Bikers Inside the Beltway in 2024.

After the meeting, it was great to see an MRF John "Farmer" Eggers Award recipient Craig Ashbaugh, formerly of ABATE of Illinois at the Daytona Chapter meet and greet.

For those of who that were not able to make it to Meeting of Minds a few weeks ago, here is a link to a game changing panel with a couple aftermarket industry icons. Bob Kay and Chris Cullen, along with Hardtail and Fred Harrell from the MRF discuss our heritage and the significant role the aftermarket industry plays in it. They discuss what we can and must do to protect and fight for the right to continue to repair, modify, and have continued access to internal combustion engines. Listening to 175 years of combined experience, going back to the very beginnings of the motorcycle aftermarket industry and the motorcyclist’s rights movement, speaking out to protect it was riveting. Take a chance to watch this motivational presentation.
