DickC's Album: My VTX 1800C -- "The Beast"

I bought this bike, sight unseen, in an eBay auction from a car dealer in Cumberland, Md., in August 2011. The bike had significant corrosion problems and nearly EVERY piece of chrome had to be replaced and there has been almost $8,000 in parts replaced to get it back in good shape. It's now ready for the 2012 riding season! I do have chrome wheels to put on, and hard saddlebags, which are presently being painted to match the bike. I hope to have the new wheels and bags on before the end of March 2012.

I have a replacement rear drive housing (the paint is bubbling up on this one), which I plan to have chromed and added to replace the one on the bike. I also replaced the shifter with a heel/toe shifter. I also added a Mustang bib on the fuel tank.
