We all know that COVID-19 has made things very difficult for our friends and families who own businesses and that it has been particularly hard for many bars and restaurants.
Well, the upcoming Bike Week is a go for Daytona/Ormond and many surrounding areas, but Mainstreet Deland has decided to cancel their annual Bike Rally due to COVID concerns.

This constitutes a massive hit to the already struggling businesses in Downtown Deland. These businesses rely on special events like the Bike Rally to boost their annual sales in a typical year. Enter the disaster that 2020 and 2021 have been for business, and you can imagine how the loss of such an event will affect the ability of these businesses to mitigate losses.

The Deland Bike Rally is typically a booming event that has all kinds of bikers from all over the country and the world descend upon Deland for one day in a Bike-Glorious money spending extravaganza. Well, since it is not happening this year, businesses like our friends at Abbey Bar and Odd Elixir Mead Works (they function out of the same building) are missing out.

I want to show our friends that we love them, so I am organizing this ride to crash Abbey Bar!

We will start at the gas station at the ole' traffic circle at 44 and Grand at 6:00pm with a KSU of 6:15pm, then head the very long way to Abbey Bar for some excellent beer, wine, and food. Please arrive with an appetite for the good stuff, because we want to spend some money!

The ride will be an average pace and take approx. 2 hours. Parking is every-man-for-himself as usual, but we will do our best to get some spaces in front of Abbey bar. If not, there is parking in the back, and all along the street downtown. We will land around 8:00pm, which is still early for parking downtown.

Tell everyone you know! this is not just a biker thing... well the ride part is, but the beer, wine, and food part is fair game.
