Event Desc

  • The idea of the Chilly Turkey is to raise funds for Riders for Health, have fun, and enjoy a day where the challenge is actually the weather. Always held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the weather in Seattle is usually cold, wet, and blustery. One event even “featured” some snow on the road.

Entrants are asked for a donation of $10 for Riders for Health, but most pay two or three times that amount. They will be given directions for a back roads meandering ride that will end at Bob Mighell’s “Tilting Motorworks” in the small town of Snohomish.

Entrants may start their ride between 10am and 11am, but most will wait and ride at 11am with organizer David Preston, who has organized all dozen of these events. It is easier to not get lost if you follow the guy who created the route!

Once at Tilting Motorworks, owner and creator Bob Mighell will provide a tour of the facility. In addition to being fascinating, this will allow entrants to get warm and dry as well!
