Event Desc

  • New Orleans Bike Week will be the first major rally in New Orleans, Louisiana, since the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent failure of the levees. For those of you who remember when the "Steel Pony Express" was the go-to rally in the Big Easy prior to that event, New Orleans Bike Week is promising to be just as big. This rally will be at the foot of the famous French Quarter (four blocks from Bourbon Street) located on the Mahalia Jackson Theater grounds and Louis Armstrong Park. Musical entertainment will feature Louisiana local artists, representing the unique sounds of Louisiana from Jazz to Zydeco and everything in between.

There will be abundant parking (on a 1st come basis) at the Basin Street parking lot behind the New Orleans' Visitors’ Center just for bikes. Major bike companies are committing to attend, with over a 100 vendors committed to attend. We also have some surprises to be announced at a later date!

During New Orleans Bike Week, we will also be hosting activities to support our selected locale charities. We are looking to assist our still affected Katrina victims and US Military veterans in need. We will be hosting a biker volunteer "rebuilding day" on Tuesday and Wednesday, (that's the 20th and 21st of Sept 2016) in support of one of our charities, the St Bernard Project. "SBP" started in 2006 with a couple of volunteers rebuilding one family’s home. They have rebuilt over 600 homes in New Orleans and over 1,000 homes nationwide in disaster affected communities. SBP is still rebuilding in New Orleans because there is still work to be done. The road home for so many has been delayed over and over by issues like contractor fraud, forced mortgage pay offs, insufficient Road Home money or the lack of affordable housing during the rebuilding process. Visit www.stbernardproject.org for more information on SBP. We will have a separate volunteer link if you are interested in volunteering. We will also be raffling off three motorcycles; a Harley-Davidson, an Indian, and a Cafe Style Racer that will help raise monies for our charities, plus additional raffles throughout the event.

The cost of a one-day pass will be $25.00 and $65.00 for a three-day pass that includes venue entry with access to vendors and motorcycle parking (no cars included in this ticket price). Tickets will be available soon thru Ticket Master. If you're ready to party New Orleans style (where the party never ends), then this is where you need to be! Looking forward to seeing you there! Keep watching for updates as we add sponsors and events to this site, plus the musical line up! You can also follow us on our website: www.neworleansbikeweek.com.
