I have a 1600 yamaha 2001 roadstar. I hit a deer last night. Now my bike cuts out just when I go to shift. runs good in idle, and inbetween shifts. just cut out when I need to shift. So, between 1st and 2nd, it runs good, just before I need to shift in to second, it cuts out. shift into second, and it runs good. and same when I need to shift from 2nd to 3nd. I didnt take it any faster then 45mph last night.
I didn't lay the bike down when I hit the deer. I got down to about 30mph before I hit the deer, it just bent my front fender.

So any Ideals????

Check if it is touching wire to kickstand kill switch when you shift.

Sounds like one of your neutral safety switches has a loose or bent lead. I would tear all the covers off the bike and see if something got pulled loose or bent. Btw did you at least get to keep the deer?
