I totally aivse NOT TO RIDE 80  From Sacramento to Reno. 80 both east & west is under horrid construction.  12+" concrete lifts & pinched lanes.

Old 40 & Hwy 20 aren't bad alternitives either.

There's several back roads you can take & 50  & 88 are in good shape.

I was up in Carson City for the AMA Women's Conference a few weeks ago & there was a big message board for Mt. Rose (431) Motorcycles not advised.,  I've heard differently but proceed with caution.

Anyone with a Garmin I'm happy to send ya a map. I'm Google illiterate.

The sign is for Gieger Grade to Virginia City, should say bicycles not recommended, should be done by end of August any way. Was up recently on bike is in good shape.

Latest report for Mt rose was they were supposed to be done this Sunday.(26th)

before on the corners, most major roads have had upgrades and there is alot of lose stones in apex of bends...the scenic route down from Virginia city into Reno is particularly bad......
