Hello all... It's about that time of the year for us... Leaving Palau and taking Ruby (winterized in San Diego) out for a short trip and some well deserved exercise... Since we just kept getting lost last year, on our trip across the states , I have decided to install a GPS... It's a Zumo 550, which I got a great deal on. We have tried putting in our routes, we planned using google maps, but, it has not worked. So, we have manually inputted all the information. Tedious, though simple, work. Does anyone, on this forum, have any suggestions on how to use the google earth maps routes in the Zumo 550? We are on MAC Intel based computers, so we need instructions based on the MAC platform. We have tried a bunch of how-to's and nothing has worked properly... Any Suggestions? Thanks, |

Have you tried Poi Factory (http://www.poi-factory.com). I always found a lot of useful GPS info there. Here is one post I found on the 550 and google, I am sure there are many more - http://www.poi-factory.com/node/9892 ______________________

Help here maybe. www.fixya.com/support/p510066-garmin_zumo_550_gps_receiver The Garmin Zumo 550's points of interest database is outdated and occasionally gave us wrong street names or no street at all for some side streets. Also, automatic route recalculation is a bit on the slow side. The compass only works in off-road mode, and there's no Mac support yet for Garmin's MapSource software. reviews.cnet.com/gps/garmin-zumo-550/4505-3490_7-31995597.html |
