I agree he deserved a ticket, but feel he does not deserve a felony charge against him. Come on now, a felony for filming someone without permission? America is quickly turning into a police state, depriving citizens of rights. Amazing,...so when a red light camera catches someone in the act of running a red light...is the proof provided by law enforcement illegal as well? Justice should be a two way street, bet the officer behind them has it on film as well, will he be charged with a felony to ruin his life too? That is some bogus BS.

I can't pick up on what state this is, if it's Florida this is not uncommon, they will walk up and snatch the keys out of your ignition, how long was the chase, doesn't say if he pulled over immediately or not. The video recording law they state is a bit weird, never heard that before, they video us, we should be able to video them as well for cases just like this.

The state is MD. If the guy is giving us the straight poop (easily verified w/ the offending video) there was no chase. - He had pulled over for other reasons. - Admits he was being a squid.
If you are showing a firearm on a citizen that does not represent an immediate threat AND you are not in uniform you should have your badge in the other hand.
Mostly offended that they are taking exception to a citizen making a video (recall Rodney King?)
Also offended w/ the really plain clothes officer & the really unmarked car. - Had that been me & in NY where crime is rampant & the citizens unarmed my 1st impulse would ave been to assume a holdup & run the guy over.

even more recently - look at the latest beating by 3 cops of the kid leaving the basketball game. Had it not been for the video, the kid would be going to jail for the bogus charge they tried to lay on him. Assaulting a police officer and his horse...

Sorry, but big brother can't have it both ways...

I watched it again and can't tell if they were chasing him or not, could have been a ten minute high speed chase involving other units for all I know, the guy on the bike started backing up like he was going to run again, there was a marked unit behind him, unmarked car could have had flashing lights and siren as well. I have a feeling he knew it was a cop and was running, with the marked unit behind him he should have killed the motor, not backed up.

When you're off duty, chill out a bit. If it's a bank robbery, yea but this. Come on. Clear case, as far as I can see, of wanting to prove something. If you're an asshole with a badge, you're an asshole without it.

An unmarked car, in civilian clothing, not showing a badge and drawing a weapon? Only saving "Grace" for the Maryland State Police was the "Marked" Patrol car behind him... Guy in front was still in the wrong until he identified himself! Yes, they are MARYLAND STATE POLICE... They patrol the 495 beltway in everything from TurboCharged Mustangs to Ferraris. Actually saw a Black Porsche pull a 300ZX Turbo over! Guy got out with a "Teddy-Bear" Hat and put it on... If ya go around Baltimore or D.C. watch yer "Six"..... Sarge...

Ok, say I'm a cop (I'm Not) I pull a guy over who has a camera on top of his head and now I complain because it was recording? I don't get it. What's the big deal. The motorcyclist did not pull over the cop....did not come up to him to record the conversation, the cop aproched him.

in my town the cops can do what ever they want regardless of the law, and get away with it most of the time. we do have 5 of them in jail right now.

I dont know what to make of it exactly, but the cop should have identified himself as a police officer before drawing his weapon. Even with a patrol car behind me, a regular looking dude stopping short almost cutting me off and pulling a gun, I'd have booked and called 911 when it seemed safe or found a police station. As for the camera, its bs in my opinion, it was on his helmet to begin with, the cop chose to take matters in to his hands even w/ uni's present, thats on him, not the guy who had the camera running. Plus the biker's a vet, and accepted the fine for speeding.

Here is the Rest of the Video, riding a new CBR1000RR watching full screen I can see him open it up looking at the tach after his wheely. From what I see he was watching mirrors, knew the cop was behind, dove off the interstate to get away and got snarled up in traffic at the light or he would have been history, that bike will go from 0-100 mph in about 3-4 seconds, outta'here!..........

Maryland...The same state who attempted or considered pressing charges aganist the two kids who recorded the undecover sting aginist the ACORN office in Baltimore a while back....Figures

From what I see, I don't even really have a problem with the officer pulling his weapon; It's a crazy F.....n world out there; but, coming to my house after the fact and taking my computers and charging him after the Officer had to seen the helment cam? That's pure Police State BULLSHIT!

Recording without permission=felony. WTF?!? Wonder if they charged the officers also as I'm sure they had dash cams running and recording. Did they ask his permission...if not lock em up and impound the PD's computers also. Don't get me wrong, my father was a cop for 26 years, but seems to me there is a lot of do as I say not as I do with the younger cops today. And yes the plain clothes should have had his badge clearly displayed on either a lanyard or a belt clip without his shirt covering it up since his weapon was drawn. Come up on me with a gun drawn and don't let me know immediately that you're a cop and things are probably going to end badly for both of us.

But one of reasons I feel better when Lay Enforcement's, primary duty weapon is a DA revolver, Want them thinking for the time it takes for a long trigger squeeze.
