Guess I should introduce myself since I've been on here about a week and have already made two post. Name is Mac, southern boy living in NJ (married a Jersey Girl, started listening to Bruce Springsteen, now I'm stuck!) retired military (Army) use to have a '69 Sportster and a '74 Sportster back in the '70's...laid off riding for many years and now I'm back (always knew there was something missing in my life) with a rigid framed '72 Sportster. One of these days I'm gonna buy a big boys bike!!!!!! Enjoying the site........

Welcome to the boards! Gotta love those old Sportsters,a riding buddy of mine has a 74 AMF model, which he has kept stock basically for the last 20 years since he picked her up.

Mac.... You already have a "big boys bike"
Welcome to the site, what part of Jersey are you living in? Back in 1970 I lived in Freehold. It was a nice place back then.

I live in Manahawkin, near Long Beach Island. Use to live in Ocean Township next to Asbury Park. My wife's from Neptune, this is her stomping ground. Have been to Freehold many times. A lot different from when you lived there!

Die hard Sportster girl here. And I don't care what they call my bike. Mostly they say...suhweeet! I can keep up with any 1340cc (well almost any). And with a few mods, so can you. My old man is a fairly large guy, and he don't mind ridin' a sporty either. But I digress. Welcome to Cyclefish, Mac117. I'll think you feel right at home here. And there are plenty of Sportster riders, along with every other bike imaginable. Cause it's the love "of the ride", not "what" we ride, that really matters here. Ride Free

Welcome Mac. Retired Army also, and yes, I ride one of the others. Don't matter tho. As Tweek said, enjoy the site and the ride.

Thank's all! Nice to see other mil retirees on here. I was just being a wise-ass about the big boy's bike. I've had Sportsters in my blood since the '70's....no need changing just cause I got old!!!!!!

RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE!!!!

Also was away from serious riding for a few decades. - If they hadn't invented the Ulysses would have probably done the Sportster.

Give a holler if you ever are heading to the middle of NY
