For Hot Springs, try this. We stayed here and it was super nice.www.arkansasstateparks.com/lakeouachita/ Hot Springs works for me as well. Ya'll pick it and I'll be there ______________________ It is not something that can be inherited, nor can it be purchased. No amount of money can buy it. We vote for Eureka Springs, July 7-10 ish. Helmets are required for under 21 only so should not be a problem for any of us lol! |

We found some accommodations in Eureka Springs for all to consider. We looked at the KOA site. We love KOA's but that one seems to have a lot of rules about "quiet time" hmmm. Maybe they would work with us? But these say biker friendly specifically. http://ridersrestmotel.com/ http://www.arkansas.com/places-to-stay/attr_detail.aspx?id=22090&r=Ozarks&city=Eureka%20Springs http://www.kettlecampground.com/motorcycles.htm We are ok with Hot Springs too but Eureka Springs is a bit closer for us. |

Are helmet laws and gun carry laws going to be the deciding factor on where we get together for the next meet and greet? ( can't spell worth beans late at night) |

I don't know about y'all but, I ain't gotta keep the .380 in my boot all the time and I live in Delaware where helmets are an option but, wear one all the time anyway! I kinda like them cabins on that website The Extreme linked... Says one Cabin will sleep 10 people... Ought to make fer one hell of a "Pigpile! |

Hello all been watching this thread and thought I'd contribute. Arkansas is terrific for riding two wheels. Starting in Arkadelphia on 7 North is a wonderful ride through Hot Springs up to Harrison. Really love the north section above Russellville. 16 from Fayetteville to Heber Springs is lots of fun also, and Greers Ferry Lake is beautiful. The Ozarks area is so much fun to ride around like Rogers to Eureka Springs a little bit on the tourist side but very nice. Along the Arkansas river the views are outstanding from Petit Jean State park, and Magazine Mtn. I was stationed in Jacksonville outside Little Rock for 3 years in the 70's and then in Blytheville for 2 more in the 80's. Rode most of the state in the northern half. Lots of fun roads and camping plenty. Hope this helps, Red and I will make the 2011 Meet and Greet and look forward to the ride. OOPs I failed to mention the Ouachita Nat'l Forrest and Hot Springs Nat'l park, beautifull area and good riding. Plus their is Murfreesboro home of the Crater of Diamonds state park, where you can search for Diamonds. |

no helmets works for me, it's nice to run without every so often...feels kind of rebelious from Va where it is mandatory - I loved running sans head weight in KY. As for the guns, I usually don't go anywhere without mine - but as long as we stay out of the parks I think I am ok. There were several places to stay in Eureka Springs listed in the link I posted - including a few biker owned/run places. ______________________ |

if we can plan this out in advance, I'd like to come over from the west coast. It would be my first multi-state ride(1800+ miles one way) I like the idea of the KOA cabins.... I'll have to see how many days there and back and take some vacation time from work. Ok everyone I need a date and a place to plan my end of it. ______________________ Lead, follow, or get out of the way |

Didn't we talk about the 2nd weekend in June for next year's meet?yes wee did but some can't make it till after the 14th of July as I understand so I looked and determined for me and I can make ANY date from the 2nd weekend ofl june up till the 18th of July which after that date I am out due to haveing to be back to get the boys back in school. I'm flexible with any date from weekend 2nd of June up to the 18th of July. can't make everybody happy but trying to work something out for as many to attend as possible. Just LMK if the dates I mentioened are in the range and I'll be there ______________________ It is not something that can be inherited, nor can it be purchased. No amount of money can buy it. I think we're trying to avoid the "Dog Days" of summer (the hottest part) and maybe stay away from the 4th of July holiday! Naw... Dang hang it!!! Blaine just said some can't make it till after the 14th of June... Aw hell, I don't know... Just say when and where, I'll be there... |
