Since I found what was causing the banging and popping with my Indian, I'd like to say there are a few thing we should ALWAYS check before we go on.... Like the Plug gap AFTER we have DROPPED a spark Plug and before we put it in! Yes!!!! Dropped the plug, picked it up and put it in and then couldn't figure out why the bike didn't wanna run! The gap was completely closed! DUH! Need spark gap to light the gasoline! Any other ideas of some things we need to always check? BOY! Do I feel like the prized ASS! HeeHaw, HeeHaw!!!!! Never get in a hurry! |

check thumb shutdown.!! ????? Hit switch getting off. Next step haul to dealer service dept. We did that to one of my friends on a week long ride. When he was away from the bike we switched it off. Took him 10 minutes to figure it out. Now when we ride together we all are so paranoid that the kill switch is the first thing we check. ______________________ |

I used to do that to my cousin whenever I felt he was acting like an idiot. W let him push it all the way across the parking lot once before we started laughing! I miss that guy! ______________________ Claudia & Clay IacovettoGet a grip on reality--AND CHOKE IT TO DEATH!!! |

I let my local Stealer install my new Vance and Hines pipes and PowerCommander when I purchased the new Harley because it was my first fuel injected bike, and my first Harley...So I let them do it. For the last year I have been back and forth the the Stealer because of a check engine light!!!! They keep telling me it is an Oxygen sensor, and there is no reason for the fault because they are no longer connected as per the Power Commander setup. )*&%(^% Light! Driving me crazy, been back and forth and still got that #@$T%#$ Light coming on! Well, I took the ol gal apart and reconnected the oxygen sensors just to see if it would run with them connected anyway, and lo and behold it runs great and NO )*%($(^ LIGHT ANYMORE! Lousy Dealers! Do your own service! Everytime!!! Seems like after being on a bike since I was 6 I would know better. I will learn one day! |

after seeing some guy with a brand new Boss Hog at a bike night thinking he was so cool, and that the bike was in neutral, he was standing next to it and went to fire it up so all his buds could hear how cool it was. Well it jumped the curb and ran into the guard rail. I ALWAYS sit on the bike and make sure its in neutral |

Since I don't have a fuel gauge on the Indian and I had to push it once, I never roll out the driveway without looking in the tank.... Or.... I ALWAYS check my FUEL before riding.... |

Yup! My next door neighbor got his Fatboy out yesterday and rode around town to do a couple errands. First time since fall. This morning before we left on our 100 plus mile ride, I asked when he'd last checked tire pressure. Well...... The front had 22 psi and the rear was at 17.... I told him the bike would probably handle better with inflated tires... 36 in the front and 40 psi in the rear according to his owner's manual... Am I getting Paranoid about this stuff????? Rearend of my shiftrod unscrewed and fell out Wednesday. Not Paranoid, just careful!!!!! Sarge. |

Also works when pulling up to park - PUT THE KICKSTAND DOWN - Unless you enjoy having a bunch of friends LTAO and rolling on the ground. |
