What the Hell??? Was the last bike an Indian???  If Harley is so "Antiquated" and behind the times, WHY is everyone COPYING them?????  Look at all the "Jap" bikes that are trying to copy the Harleys...  But, then again, Harley did copy the "Crotch Rockets" with the V-Rod...  I guess when you've successfully been in business over 105 years it does have a tendacy to make some "newbies" JEALOUS!!!!

Well, when you can't compete some people try to put down what they don't understand.

I just wish the folks now running Indian Motorcycle Company would bring their prices down to a competitive level at least with Harley. Hell.... I'd buy another Indian in a heartbeat!

I hear ya grady. The only thing is that when someone bashes Harley, it seems to be ok but when a Harley owner bashes, people act like they are snobs. I've rode all kinds and ride a custom now. I just get tired of a lot (not all) of the metric riders pulling the bash and then hide like a coward tactic.

I've riden all kinds and makes. Honyamasukasaki.... Norumps too... I finally have the ways and means to ride what I want. I don't fault anyone for what they ride but....... Don't go "bashing" on brands. You ride what you can afford and are comfortable with. I have a couple friends that ride Goldwings that cost more than my Harleys. That's their perogative. I do get pissed about Chinese Beltbuckles costing $30...

I'm into touring bikes. My "Ultra" is a great touring bike. I'm not interested in setting the quickest lap time on the thing .
It has been very dependable. I've put 20+ k on it in 3 years without a problem. Back in my youth(many years ago) I use to bash Harleys too. Back then my idea of a good day of riding was riding a couple miles across town to met a friend. Then the two of us would ride maybe 15 miles to the beach. Maybe I would put 3k on in a season. Now I'll do half that on a good weekend...Maine for lobster anyone?

I will admit the Dragon is not set up for long comfort rides...couldn't give a shit, that bike was designed, and for the most part put together by me, (less paint) and I love every moment I'm on her back. We are emono emono
In the past I've own a Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph, Honda; personally I just like how the Harley sounds, and looks.
I will tell you straight up....I don't give a crap what you ride, if you are a stand up dude without an ego I will ride with you no matter what your ass is sitting on.

I did a ride to Luray Caverns over Memorial Day weekend. Twice in one day I saw "Sport" Bikes down and their riders being assisted by other riders on Big Cruisers. Both Crashes were into the Median on 4 Lane roads. From what I could see. Both "Pilots" were wearing those pretty, colorful suits. One was a beautiful Blue and the other was a florescent Green. The two crashes were seperated by over 50 miles. Both were serious, the Bikes "Trashed"... I don't think it matters if yer riding a Yamaha, Honda or a Suzuki. If you don't posess the maturity and good sense to operate it in a safe and proper manner! You shouldn't be riding! P.S. I'll take my "damned" ol black leather anyday.

A buddy of mine that I've ridden with for years used to bash Harleys. He had an old Goldwing, it broke down. He had a BMW, it broke down. He even had a Kawi and it broke down. My Harley never broke down. FInally, a couple years ago he bought a Harley. It has never broke down. :-P

Obviously "ivetret" is trying to tell us, she can't ride... Keeps bashing on the Harley... Must've been "jilted" by some guy riding a Harley....

Hey, c'mon now, no need for a war ... check the name of the forum ... Biker and Motorcycle Humor and Jokes.

On the subject - I ride a Yamaha (V-Star) and to be honest, never was really satisfied with it. I had to replace the stock saddle if I wanted to ride any more than 50 miles at a stretch, and it's missing basic stuff I never thought of when I bought it - like a fuel gauge.

If I had the money I would own a Harley in a heartbeat, but that's gonna have to wait for now.

i hear ya pcdoc, but the lady ivetret appears ta ride a honda Aero?! smells a bit like a cruiser rider inferiority complex ta me...

as for me, i went back ta bikes lookin at the honda Shadows myself, not knowing at the time that i can afford a 2nd hand Sportster instead. the cunning salesman pushed the start button of the Sporty in my ear and from then on, I WAS HOOKED...
i was able ta switch te a Softail since, if for no other reason than i'm a big basterd, and me ass looked to big on the Sporty
