Biker at the Zoo

Topics: 57   Posts: 286
A biker is at the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage.  Suddenly the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and starts to pull her inside the cage.  The biker runs up to the cage and hits the lion on the nose with a powerful punch.  Whimpering in pain, the lion jumps back and lets go of the child.  The biker brings her back to her terrified parents, who thank him profusely.

A reporter happens to be there and witnessed the whole thing.  He runs up to the biker and says "Sir, that was an incredible act of bravery!"

"Why it was nothing," said the biker, "I just saw a little kid in danger and didn't think twice about it.  I just did what I could."

"I noticed a patch on your jacket," the reported said.

"Yes, I ride with a Christian Motorcycle Club", answered the biker.

The reported replied, "Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed!  I'm a reporter for the local newspaper."

The next day the biker picks up the newspaper and reads:

BIKER GANG MEMBER ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH.

Our local paper is like that! Every year they won't take pics of the remembrance parade for 9/11 or Veteran's Day parade because all the local bike groups are invited to participate. The editor even told the event coordinator that that was why.

cnciaco, sorry to hear that there are people in communities that still think only in the negative about the image of bikers. They need to consult with newspapers around the country about all the generous contributions that bikers and their clubs/groups/gangs make to all kinds of worthy causes. I saw the city of Billings, MT police dept. clear the way for about 1,000 bikers down main streat so they could help unload two semi-truck trailers of boxes for the Feed The Children program and then help distribute those to needy families. I hate to speak with a cliche but: 'You can't judge a book by its cover'.

I know, we run the local Toys for Tots program for the entire northeast portion of our state and have for 20 years. The local Council of Community Services will work with us fine and always have, but our local paper will not give us any publicity for it. And the Operation Santa program in one of our towns is run by the LEO's and they have flat out refused our donations for 4 years. This year, I sidestepped the officers and spoke to a wife and she took our help with no problems. It is a funny joke though, sad--but funny!

No one understands Bikers like Bikers. Ya all are an awesome breed of human and I have been on many runs for kids and the money and toys collected was unbelievable. 2 semi trucks full of toys and over $1 mill. in cash and checks collected for them. 1 run. Ya all should always give your selves a strong pat on the back for all your good deeds. They do not go unnoticed. The Man upstairs is the one who's opinion counts. Period. So you know you are a good person and so does he. That's all that counts. Opinions are like ass$$les...everybody has one. Ride safe.
