My husband and I went on the Westcoast Thunder Memorial ride (my first big ride). I would have to say I was not only surprised by the large number of bikes that attended but was touched by the amount of people that was along the parade route. Miles and miles of people of all ages with American flags showing their support for our fallen heros. The opening ceremonies were great, the ride was unforgettable and the tribute at the concert site was emotionally overwhelming with tears and sorrow in memory of those that gave the ultimate sacrafice. I am proud to be an American in this beautiful land and proud that I have had the chance to experience such patriotism of our great nation. |

Believe me I was surprised to see such support in numbers. I had no idea what to expect. I was even more surprised to see that the CHP blocked off every intersection in town and freeway on ramp along the parade route. We're talking So. Calif weekend traffic and the route was at least 25 miles. Even the people on the freeways were out of their cars waving in support. I have posted some pics, but because I was riding my bike I wasn't able to get the pictures along the route. My daughter was on the back of her dad's bike and got hundreds of photos. I will post some when she gives me a copy...I hear bikes stretched for miles and miles, simply amazing! |

That is one of the really great one day events here in So Cal. Big numbers show up every year. I remember many years back that was the first time Laura and I met Russ & Cindy, who our now our REALLY good friends. ______________________
