My housemate (spouse) doesn't ride, even as passenger. I'm looking for riding friends and partners in my area who can gear up and go on a moment's notice. I do all my own work on my bike and am willing to help others with theirs. I'm retired after forty-five years as a heavy equipment and automotive mechanic, carpenter, electrician, long-haul truck and bus driver, you name it. I love a good laugh, companionship of people of like mind, get together with friends, for rides, parties or whatever. I'm pretty easygoing unless crossed, then I'd rather not stay around. I'd rather not spend time in a smoky atmosphere, as it gives me a headache, so I look more for non-smoking friends, or groups, but not exclusively--I'm not a non-smoking snob.
I'm an old fart with a bad back, so long rides without rest are not for me. About 200-250 miles a day is just right, with gawk and piss stops in the middle. Plus food, of course!! As a result, I ride alone a lot. Don't like it much but that's how it goes.
