Wet Ride

  • Theres nothing I enjoy more than a ride through the mountains of North Georgia and Western North Carolina, its really a beautiful ride. My Grandmothers old house is in Andrews, N.C. so thats usually the final destanation for a road trip. I allowed this past weekend it was time for a trip so here I went in spite of threating weather. It was a very nice ride up, spent a couple of days catching up on R&R, then it came time to get back home. When I got up on Monday it was coming a down pour, now Im not afraid of getting a little wet but this just wasnt going to happen! Finally after a couple of hours the skys started to run out of water so I set out on my journey home. It wasnt a bad ride just wet from the road and passing cars, still a good ride. It wasnt until the following day that I went to look at my bike,Wow! what a mess, my work was cut out for me for sure! My brother-in-law brought his bike over to my shop and we cleaned and chewed the fat together for a couple of hours, then he said Im finished. How can this be I thought, I barely had the front wheel and forks done! It took me another 8hrs. to finish cleaning and waxing to get it like I like it. Now theres a ride coming up today and I woke up to thunder, I just cant bring myself to want to get out. JUst wondered what everybody else thinks; Go on the ride or sit on the porch and watch it rain? The thoughts of another 10hrs cleaning is not what I look forward to doing, or maybe Im just to picky when it comes to keeping my baby clean!
