    PIERRE, SD -

State officials in South Dakota have launched a website as part of a campaign to promote motorcycle education and safety.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard, Public Safety Secretary Trevor Jones and Tourism Secretary Jim Hagen on Friday unveiled the South Dakota Rides website.  Daugaard says the site provides information on safety, state laws, rider training opportunities and other topics.

The governor also has designated next week as Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Week in South Dakota.

South Dakota is famous for the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which draws hundreds of thousands of bikers to the Black Hills.
